Meanie

So, I've been slowly accumulating things for my desk. I have a Simon Pegg quote up that sums it up by stating that being a Geek is liberating, it is about getting excited about something that interests you, without worrying about what othes think.

My first purchase for work was a TARDIS USB hub. It was a wise purchase, because my Mac Pro is situated in such a way that plugging things into it would be a royal pain in the tucchus. However, I wanted more Doctor Who stuff. In the subsequent five months, this is what is accruing:


I showed Chef this picture yesterday and he and Ed agree that I'm holding out on them because I don't want to let them play with my toys. I don't know about you, but now that sounds like I need to get even MORE action figures...

Wal Mart Your Zone $500.00 Gift Card Contest!

For several months now, I have participated in WalMart 's Beyond Eleven Moms, a collective of bloggers who partner with WalMart to give feedback on products already in stores and ideas about products that the company can offer in their stores. Last month, I was approached to help test out a new product line in the stores. Many retailers offer room decor for youngsters and college students, but affordable furniture, bedding and decor for teens was hard to find. Enter Your Zone ! We were sent a $500.00 WalMart gift card and given a mission: redo a bedroom whatever way you like within that amount for your teen. If you asked me to do it anywhere else, I think I could buy a bed and a dresser and be done. The whole point of Your Zone is that your teen can change things without breaking the bank. Webmaster Alex speaks Anonymously

**Please note, this post was written in 2008, over 7 years ago.  This is not current, but remains to detail the DISboards bannings.** The other day, I wrote of my banning from the Disboards, a site I belonged to for six years. I was banned for participating in another site, as were approximately 35 others. The list will be posted further in this entry. If you skip this post because it doesn't mean anything except to the participants, I don't mind. This is mainly out there for the hundreds (over 7,500 now!**) of Google searches that have been directed to my blog since the bannings. Lord knows, anytime anyone asks a question on the Disboards, it'll be poofed faster than you can say "delete." Curiously, I received an anonymous comment that rambled on and on.
